Looking at the prices of flights today – how can airlines manage to stay in business? Flights very often cost next to nothing to purchase – in fact for short breaks in Dublin often cost more for 1 night in a hotel than the flights cost! I am completely sure that it used to be the other way around, the flights being the most expensive aspect of your holiday.

The cost must be swallowed up somewhere else. I really struggle to believe that a flight full of people from London to Dublin all paying 9.99 would pay for the fuel never mind all the safety staff, pilot, co-pilot, use of the runway, etc. etc. So where is the money made back?

It must only be a limited number of seats that are sold for the very low price. The rest of the seats must be in the £100.00+ if not £200.00+ region. Apart from that, some of the airlines are now charging additional costs for things like additional baggage (with a pretty low allowance) no free food of drink, and even some airlines are planning to or already charging for the use of the toilet! What is that about?!

But even with the surprise, I’m not complaining if it means I get a holiday or short break for less than expected – but the toilet charge may result in my seat getting damp if I don’t have some spare change!

A hot topic today is the use of performing animals in circuses. This has come due to a few high profile cases in the press, Mary Chipperfield was one of the first ‘big ones’.

Animals are a real tradition in European Circuses, from lions and tigers to horses and dogs. There are even a number of circuses who have animals such as giraffes, crocodiles, rhinos and kangaroos!

The main objection from the animal rights protesters is that they are not only taken out of their natural habitat, but also treated in a cruel manner to do tricks. The animal rights people do often seem to be going a funny way about showing that cruelty to animals is wrong – by being cruel to humans! Oh well.

Website design is something that is a good foundation when it comes to promoting it. Sounds strange? Yes, but a badly designed website could greatly stump your SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) efforts. If there is not clearly readable navigation for the Search engines, it can mean that the linking value does not proceed past the very first page.

SEO experts can be worth consulting prior to engaging a web designer for your project. Better still would be using a web designer who is well versed in SEO.

Haing a website is hardly ever enough if you are looking to have it as your main or sole income. Website promotion is almost certainly going to be the make or break of your online business. Coventry SEO company RS make it their main aim to promote clients websites, increasing their online visability through promotion and recommendations to the site owners and webmasters.

For SEO Coventry has a number of options available, from cheap, one off packages to ongoing offpage SEO. The key is finding the right company for the job. Cheap is hardly ever the best investment.

Ok, there may be an arguement of investing 200 quid to make you 250, but if spending 1000 per month was going to make you 5000, then it can make much more business sense. Expensive but a very good ROI.

For Website SEO Coventry try Here.

Fuel Prices in Connection to Driving Lessons

A bit of a rewrite here… as the prices keep rising. Having many connections with driving instructors I feel at least partially qualified to speak on the subject of how the cost of fuel in the UK is either putting additional pressure on driving instructors or at very least being passed on to the paying pupils (although not that often by the looks of things).

It is an unavoidable fact that when a business has to pay out more money on their own expenses means that they either make less money or, in order to make the same money as before – they need to charge more for their products. This is one of the problems that driving instructors have year on year. As the price of fuel increases due to the increase of tax and the profits of the fuel companies, the costs increase for the instructors.

What can be done? Well, many driving schools have had to make [arguably sensible] decisions. Smaller cars, for example, are much more common than were a few years ago (I don’t have statistics, simply observing the number and type of driving school cars locally – whereas the driving school cars used by the AA used to be exclusively the Ford Focus, they also introduced the smaller Ford Fiesta into their fleet). Another thing that I know is happening at least in a few cases of instructors close to me is the need to park up and explain things/more time sitting at the side of the road. Although I understand the need to explain things, what doesn’t sit right is giving in to the temptation to not give the ideal/maximum amount of driving for the purpose of saving fuel.

I was recently in contact with one of the driving instructors in Kings Lynn, who has moved to doing more lessons/training in the customers vehicle which seems like a pretty good solution – albeit a slightly riskier one in terms of road safety in my opinion – but he seems to be confident about it!
