How Much?!?!?!

Looking at the prices of flights today – how can airlines manage to stay in business? Flights very often cost next to nothing to purchase – in fact for short breaks in Dublin often cost more for 1 night in a hotel than the flights cost! I am completely sure that it used to be the other way around, the flights being the most expensive aspect of your holiday.

The cost must be swallowed up somewhere else. I really struggle to believe that a flight full of people from London to Dublin all paying 9.99 would pay for the fuel never mind all the safety staff, pilot, co-pilot, use of the runway, etc. etc. So where is the money made back?

It must only be a limited number of seats that are sold for the very low price. The rest of the seats must be in the £100.00+ if not £200.00+ region. Apart from that, some of the airlines are now charging additional costs for things like additional baggage (with a pretty low allowance) no free food of drink, and even some airlines are planning to or already charging for the use of the toilet! What is that about?!

But even with the surprise, I’m not complaining if it means I get a holiday or short break for less than expected – but the toilet charge may result in my seat getting damp if I don’t have some spare change!
